Terms of Service

Last updated: March 12, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Yogi ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of the Service, including guests and registered account holders.

2. Description of Service

Yogi is a free medical education platform that provides USMLE-style practice questions. The Service allows users to browse questions, practice in timed sessions, track progress, flag questions for review, search for questions using AI-powered search, and upload syllabus or curriculum documents to generate personalized study plans.

Guest users may practice without creating an account, with session data stored locally in the browser. Registered users benefit from persistent progress tracking across devices.

3. User Accounts

Account registration requires a valid email address and password, or you may sign in using Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to update your information if it changes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the Service
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service beyond normal use
  • Redistribute question content without permission
  • Impersonate another user or entity
  • Abuse AI-powered features by submitting excessive or automated queries

5. Educational Disclaimer

The content provided on Yogi is for educational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice. The practice questions and explanations are designed to supplement medical education and exam preparation.

Yogi does not replace professional medical training, clinical experience, or the guidance of qualified healthcare educators. Always consult appropriate medical resources and professionals for clinical decision-making.

6. AI-Powered Features

The Service includes AI-powered features including semantic search for finding practice questions and curriculum analysis for generating personalized study plans. These features use Anthropic's Claude API to process your data.

When you upload a curriculum document, its content is sent to the AI service for extraction of learning objectives. The AI generates a structured study plan by mapping those objectives to our question bank. AI-generated study plans are provided as a convenience and may not perfectly align with your institution's intended learning sequence. You should review and adjust your study plan as needed.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, relevance, or completeness of AI-generated content, including search results and study plans.

7. Intellectual Property

The Yogi application, including its source code, design, and infrastructure, is proprietary. All rights are reserved unless explicitly stated otherwise.

The practice questions, explanations, and educational materials generated for Yogi are free to use for personal study and educational purposes. Redistribution or commercial use of this content requires prior written permission.

8. User-Generated Content

If you contribute content to the Service (such as questions, explanations, or feedback), you grant Yogi a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service.

You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide and that it does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

Uploaded curriculum documents (such as syllabi and course schedules) are the intellectual property of you or your educational institution. We claim no ownership or license rights over the content of your uploaded documents. The license grant above does not apply to uploaded curriculum documents. Curriculum files are processed solely to generate your personal study plan and are not retained, displayed, or distributed.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yogi and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content or search results.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Deletion removes your personal data from our systems.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
